This is an important time of year to get on the radar for schools that you’re interested in. Maybe some of your friends have done official visits, and yes there have even been some early commitments already, but it’s definitely not too late to start talking with coaches about your upcoming meets and interest in their school. Don’t be shy, just send an email and introduce yourself. Become familiar with time standards in various conferences and evaluate where you think you can be by end of this year. Visit a few schools, meet some coaches, talk with current swimmers, get a better sense for which programs are interesting to you and how that school fits with your academic goals.
